AUGUST 30th - The garden is winding down and lots of new photos will be added to the website when it's updated the beginning of the new year. We will be starting to dig and ship orders for fall in early September. Lots of seedlings still need to be moved and seeds gathered. We are suspending further orders this weekend as we need to be done shipping by the end of September so we can finish mulching. Watch for SEED SALES on our facebook page starting in mid October. NEW REGISTRATIONS will be announced and shown here in late fall. Thanks, and HAPPY HARVEST TIME!

NORTHWOOD STAR SAPPHIRE - Seifert 2019

We are AHS members and have been growing daylilies since we got hooked at our local daylily show. Before we went to the show, Doug said, "Now don't get started with daylilies, because I don't like them", to which I replied, "Don't worry, I don't like them either..."

Famous last words! Beats me why we even went to that daylily show.
Since then, we have managed to accumulate way too many, with thousands of new seedlings blooming every year. Christmas in July!
Our garden is constantly in a state of change, with new things coming in and older ones going to new gardens.

Hubby does the heavy lifting around here while I do the hybridizing. We have several goals, but the main thing after beauty is garden performance. Daylilies at their best should give you the maximum bang for your buck, with continuous bloom all summer. We want to produce beautiful, hardy reblooming daylilies with great performance.
I love doubles, UFs, bagels, toothies, streaks and oddities along with COLOR!

Winters are usually harsh in our zone 5 climate, and lasting until April or May. Temps last winter got down to -15 for a prolonged period of weeks on end. Summer temps can exceed 100 degrees with prolonged drought.
Any plants that do well here are definitely worthy of the label of northern hardy.
